Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is my signature service.  It has many benefits and is useful to just about anyone seeking massage because the session is designed to meet your needs.  Therapeutic massage can aid with:

  • anxiety
  • arthritis
  • coping with autoimmune disorders
  • digestive disorders
  • fibromyalgia
  • headaches
  • insomnia related to stress
  • myofascial pain syndrome
  • soft tissue strains or injuries
  • sports injuries
  • temporomandibular joint pain

Therapeutic massage brings a combination of massage styles into a single session. The inclusion of techniques is dependent on the goal of the session.  For example, if I am working on someone post surgery, I may use a combination of lymphatic drainage and myofascial techniques.  These would help reduce swelling and prevent excessive scar tissue from forming.

Whereas if you have headaches, I may turn to deep tissue, craniosacral and foot massage (it’s all connected) techniques.  These techniques will break down existing scar tissue, restore the balance of cerebral spinal fluid in the head, and stimulate the nervous system to reduce a headache respectively.

Our initial conversation will determine your goals.

What to expect

Goals can change session to session.  That’s why it’s important to always have a conversation at the beginning of each session to identify if there are any changes to your objective.  Don’t worry it won’t interfere with your appointment time.  A short conversation is just to make sure I am appropriately addressing your needs.

You will be asked to dress down to your comfort zone.  That varies person to person and if you have questions about it feel free to reach out to me via email felicia@hayesbodywork.com or call (703) 249-4829 to schedule an appointment in my Ashburn, VA office.

 60min/$89, 90min/$115, 120min/$139
